Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

This patient had tried so many treatments, flew in different countries to see the best doctors and try everything possible to help her CRPS. Although it started in her right leg, it quickly spread to her left leg too. In the past, she had managed to lower the pain levels with some treatments, but it never lasted. She found out about Neridronate while searching online and immediately decided to come to Italy.

Medical treatment the Patient underwent in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

Follow up

FEBRUARY 2024 (4 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient is thoroughly following the diet that was created for her by the nutritionist, and doing the exercises indicated by the Health Coach and the physiotherapist she saw in Italy. She says her pain levels are slowly decreasing and pus them at 6/10 now. Her skin has gotten back to normal; she says the shininess is gone, and she notices the color changes have been less frequent.

APRIL 2024 (6 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient is now walking without the aid of a wheelchair! She is incredibly happy about it, she puts her pain levels at 3/10 and says she has been able to lower the amount of medicine she is taking daily.

Conclusion

This patient was able to appreciate pain reduction from 9/10 to 3/10 daily, which was incredible for her, having been in this much pain for so many years. Being able to walk without the need of a wheelchair was lifechanging for our patient, who then confirmed she was finally able to go back to her workplace.
