Cause:Fell on her arm while walking her dog, it fractured in 2 points.
Symptoms:Sharp pain from shoulder to fingers; frequent swelling of the forearm; sometimes her hand feels numb.

Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

After trying nerve blocks and ketamine infusions, the patient had no lasting relief and started looking for treatment elsewhere. Her doctor knew about Neridronate and advised her to look for it, that is how she found us. Her decision to come was influenced by the fact that her doctor also let her know that the soonest she undergoes the treatment, the better results she can expect from it.

Medical treatment the Patient underwent in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

3 sessions Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Treatment Treatment with Physiotherapist.

7 days Light Therapy (in hotel room, 30+ more minutes each day)

Daily Report

DAY 1: Arrival at the Venice airport, greeted by her Patient Manager, followed by check-in at her Hotel in Verona. Briefing focused on the next days.

DAY 2: Tourism in Soave with her Patient Manager.

DAY 3: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 1st visit with the Rheumatologist Professor, 1st Rehabilitation session, and 1st infusions.

DAY 4: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 2nd infusions. Tourism in Verona.

DAY 5: Rest day in the hotel, in contact with her Patient Manager.

DAY 6: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 2nd Rehabilitation session and 3rd infusions.

DAY 7: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 3rd Rehabilitation session, 4th infusions and 2nd visit with the Rheumatologist Professor.

DAY 8: Pick-up by her Patient Manager, check-out, and drop-off at the Venice airport for her trip back home.

Follow up

MAY 2022 (2 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient said she had felt her first improvements after the first couple of weeks post-treatment. She felt that her hand was less numb at times, she could move her arm more and even bend it.

JULY 2022 (4 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient reports having regained an 80% range of motion with the pain lowering down to a 2/10 on bad days. She can lift her arms now; her hand does not feel numb anymore and seems to have regained all feelings in it.

AUGUST 2022 (6 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient says that she has a 100% range of motion now and that she does not experience pain anymore, and when she does on rare occasions, it is a 1/10 kind of pain that cannot be compared to how it was before!

Conclusion

This patient reported a very high pain level when she came to us. After the 6 months mark post-treatment we can safely say that she is in remission, after regaining 100% mobility and having her pain drop to a 0. She is very pleased with the results and could not be happier.
