Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

This patient woke up one day with incredible sharp pain on her left hand, when she was 22. She never found of what triggered her CRPS. Since then, it has spread to her whole arm up to the shoulder. She has tried various treatment paths, from Ketamine infusions to a chiropractic program in which she stayed for weeks, but none of these options worked for her, the latest actually made it worse. She found out about Neridronate and MTI talking to another CPRS patient she met at the clinic and decided it would be her next step.

Medical treatment the Patient underwent in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

Follow up

JANUARY 2024 (3 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient notices improvement in her skin sensitivity, she also is able to move her hand more easily. The work she did with the health coach and the nutritionist are helping her exercises and eat in a way that helps the inflammation caused by her CRPS, which has helped reduce her pain level from 7 to 5 in the last months.

APRIL 2024 (6 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient is now able to hold object in her hand as the muscle atrophy as drastically improved following the Health Coach exercises. She says her pain levels are between 4 and 5 now, and she has not seen a change in color of her hand or swelling in the last months.

This patient had been fighting CRPS for 12 years, it is always difficult to predict the kind of results that can be expected for long CRPS cases. However, after treatment, this patient ended up dropping pain levels from 7 to 4, being able to hold things in her hand which she could not do before due to the atrophy and skin sensitivity in her hand, and does not experience swelling or change in color anymore. All together, these are great improvements and both the patient and her medical team are happy about the results.
