Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

This patient was diagnosed 8 months in his CRPS. It took some time for his doctors to figure out the diagnosis since he had to wear a cast for months. The symptoms started right after he took it off and physical therapy seemed to make it worse.
His parents found our website while looking for possible solutions out of state. It was his mom that first contacted us asking us to know more about the treatment. In less than a month we were able to get ready for their arrival here.

Medical treatment the Patient underwent in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

30 minutes or more of usage of the MTI Light Therapy reduces inflammation, increase micro-circulation, relax nerves and muscles, reduces pain transmission, accelerates healing, regenerates cells, and promotes cells activation.

8 nights Biophysical Treatment (5 hours each night while the patients are asleep)
MTI’s Biophysical Treatment is the outcome of 25 years of research and studies. It has been certified by the best Italian Universities, partners from both public and private teams. The Biophysical treatment acts on the roots of the disease, brings relief to the inflammatory condition, helps the cells regeneration, the oxygenation, the micro-circulation, and the lymphatic system.

Follow up

NOVEMBER 2023 (3 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient reported that the discoloration and swelling he was seeing in his leg and foot decreased a lot in the past month. He noticed that the swelling only ever happens now when he pushes himself too hard. He said that his pain is improving each day, it is down to a 7/10 on some days, which is very good. He can put the foot down and walk for about 10 minutes without stopping.

DECEMBER 2023 (4 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient says that he can wear shoes again and walk for over half an hour without tiring himself too much. He is considering going back to football practice in the upcoming months when he improves a bit more. He says that his pain is down to a 5/10 on bad days.

FEBRUARY 2024 (6 months after Neridronate treatment): We received a picture from the patient’s family and in which he was wearing his Football team’s jersey, he seems to have gone back to practice some days of the week! He says that he is able to walk and even run at times, he tries not to strain himself too much but noticed that working out does not seem to cause flare-ups anymore. He says that pain does not come back as much as before and if it does, it only ever lasts for a day and is around a 3/10.

Conclusion

When the patient arrived, he could not really walk without a crutch or a cane for support, as he would tire himself out very fast. Compared to how it was, after those first 6 months post-treatment the patient had amazing results and he was able to go back to what was his goal all along, playing football once again! He is not only able to fully use his leg now, but he can also run and put weight on it, hence training as he used to while also being careful not to overdo it.
