Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

Medical treatment the Patient underwent in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

Follow up

JANUARY 2023 (3 months after Neridronate treatment): The young girl says she feels her pain is changing, and the sensitivity had improved.

APRIL 2023 (6 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient’s mother refers that her daughter is in full remission. With only 1 flare up about a month ago, which did not last long and was very different than the others.

APRIL 2024 (18 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient confirms being in remission, and she has just registered for a marathon!

Undergoing the Neridronate infusions within the first year of CRPS is usually a good indicator of great results. This patient was a very active young woman prior to her CRPS. Which is why she insisted on seeing the Health Coach during her treatment week, as she wanted to make sure her mobility would get better with time. Her remission is lasting, and she now is even registered for her first marathon in 2 years!
