Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

Professional climber, this patient’s life was completely changed after his accident. The CRPS developed very fast after the surgery, after which he tried every treatment possible for the condition, however nothing seemed to provide lasting relief.
Googling treatments online, he found our website and started a year long research, after which he contacted us and finally came over in February 2022.

Medical treatment the Patient underwent in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

JUNE 2022 (4 months after Neridronate treatment): in the last months, the patient has witnessed a reduction in pain of about 20-30%. Swelling and color change are still not presenting in the leg.

NOVEMBER 2022 (9 months after Neridronate treatment): the patients refers a reduction in pain of 40-50%. He says he has managed to completely get off 3 of the pain medication he was taking daily which has drastically improved his stomach issues, connected to the number of medications taken daily.

Conclusion

Battling the condition for 11 years now, this patient had to take 7 daily medicines to help with the horrible pain, which had had a toll on his stomach over the years. Being able to lower this number to 4 medicines a day, he was able to control the issue they were creating on his stomach, as well as improving his daily pain of about 50%. Swelling and color change were no longer an issue, and weather changes did not provide excruciating pain as it used to before the treatment.
