Cause:Motorbike accident in which she broke her foot on 3 different points.
Symptoms:Burning sensation going up the leg from the foot; all other symptoms are localized in the foot only however: skin sensitivity; redness; sensitive to weather change; sensitive to hot water; stress triggers flares-up; walking more than a few minutes triggers flares-up.

Why the Patient decided to undergo the CRPS Treatment in Italy

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a severely painful and disabling disease for which a multitude of therapeutic interventions have been proposed. In the past two decades, only Bisphosphonates gained credibility. In recent years, more convincing evidence has become available on the use of Parenteral Neridronate. Since 2014, this drug is registered and marketed in Italy for the treatment of CRPS. To date, the only therapeutic schedule that is recognized to be able to confer benefit is the intravenous (IV) administration of 100 mg given 4 times.

Daily Report

DAY 1: Arrival at the Venice airport, greeted by her Patient Manager, followed by check-in at her Hotel in Verona. Briefing focused on the next days.

DAY 2: Rest day in the hotel, in contact with her Patient Manager.

DAY 3: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 1st visit with the Rheumatologist Professor, 1st Rehabilitation session, and 1st infusions.

DAY 4: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 2nd infusions. Dinner with the team and the family of our other patient whom she had previously met.

DAY 5: Rest day in the hotel, in contact with her Patient Manager.

DAY 6: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 2nd Rehabilitation session and 3rd infusions.

DAY 7: Morning pick-up by her Patient Manager, 3rd Rehabilitation session, 4th infusions and 2nd visit with the Rheumatologist Professor.

DAY 8: Pick-up by her Patient Manager, check-out, and drop-off at the Venice airport for her trip back home.

Follow up

FEBRUARY 2023 (3 months after Neridronate treatment): The patient had referred improvements from the 2nd week after treatment already. Her pain levels had dropped drastically, and her flares-up were getting further and further away.

MAY 2023(6 months after Neridronate treatment): the patient has had amazing results from the treatment and confirms a complete remission of all symptoms.

Conclusion

Remission is the best-case scenario for CRPS patients undergoing the Neridronate infusions and the 360° treatment plan. Is has been seen in many patients, with permanent type of results, as the treatment does not have to be repeated. This case is one of the many lucky patients reaching remission, even after fighting the condition for a year and a half.
